Mission Statement

To Promote, Preserve and Protect the Historical , Horticultural and Educational Importance of the BaltimoreConservatory and Botanic Gardens. We aim to create a horticultural showcase and learning center for citizens of all ages. By reaching out to the community we hope to involve all demographics in our recreational and volunteer opportunities, therefor building community pride by contributing to Baltimore's personal, social, economic, and environmental wellbeing.

Description

We have formal outdoor gardens featuring locally adapted vegetation, which is rotated according to season. Inside our newly renovated facitlity are three greenhouses climate controlled to mimic a particular global region- the Desert house, Tropic house, and mediterranean house. These houses are organized for the plants' benefit as well as for the educational benefit of our visitors. We also maintain one of the oldest remaining Palm Houses in the Nation. Our agency has the aim and the potential to develope extensive horticultural and environmental education programs for all ages, and we would also like to have an increased capacity for programs and displays.
