Bags of Love

Imagine the fear, the confusion, the terror of being separated from everything you know--parents, possessions, home--and not having anything of your own to cling to for comfort. Children are fragile in times of crisis--homelessness, domestic abuse, neglect, the incarceration of a caregiver...we provide transitional support for children ages birth-17 in these traumatic times for them. Our pillow-sized drawstring bags include clothing, toiletries, books, toys, school supplies, and sleepwear to get through those days of transition. Each bag also includes a handmade quilt to provide a sense of security and comfort in scary times. Our bags are all age- and gender-specific and become the permanent property of each child. We work through various agencies in the Eugene-Springfield area like WomenSpace, Foster Parent Association, Oregon Department of Health Services, Kids FIRST, and many others.
