MRDC provides services to promote education, equality, and the environment in rural Maryland. We do this by:roviding the resources that promote self-sufficiency in low-income families and build strong, sustainable communities throughout Maryland.
operating Head Start centers and home-based Head Start activities in several counties providing transportation services to medical assistance recipients, employers, and for job training and recreational activities providing counseling and assitance in landlord/tenant relations and eviction prevention administering the Section 8 housing programs for several counties and provide first-time homebuyer and rental assistance working with community based organizations and local governments to provide safe water and waste water, solid waste, and local leadership development services sponsoring the State of Maryland Circuit Rider Town Management Program, bringing professional administrative and management services to small, rural towns on a part-time, shared-cost basis
