Headquarters Counseling Center

Description

Headquarters Counseling Center in downtown Lawrence supports adults and children in need of emotional support or in crisis, through "life support" counseling, children’s safety education, on-site crisis response after emergencies and traumas, and suicide bereavement support.

In 2012, Headquarters services were used 24,000 times over the phone via the local number (785.841.2345), the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800.273.8255) or the Phone A Friend line for kids (785.865.2600); by email; and in person in the community or at our center.

Founded in 1969, Headquarters is one of the oldest continuously operating crisis centers in the country. Headquarters is the top provider of suicide prevention services in Kansas. Services are free and available all day, every day; all night, every night.
