Mission Statement

The Amistad Research Center is dedicated to preserving America's ethnic heritage by providing a home to the manuscripts, photographs, books, oral histories, periodicals and works of art that contain the history of people, of nations, of beliefs and dreams, of a past worth sharing with the future.

Description

The Amistad Research Center is the nation's oldest, largest and most prestigious independent archives providing access to documents, original manuscripts and primary sources that chronicle the history of African Americans and other ethnic groups. The Center is located in Tilton Hall at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana.
