The mission of the Oregon Bach Festival is to inspire the human spirit through the art of music.

As a program of the University of Oregon, the Festival provides the highest quality of performances and innovative educational opportunities, involving a broad-based community of musicians, audiences, and donors in a manner that assures the long-term sustainability of the organization and continued accessibility to future generations.

The mandate of the Oregon Bach Festival, as a program of the University of Oregon supported by the community, is to provide a variety of performance and educational opportunities of acknowledged quality to students, professional musicians and the public. Maintenance of fiscal solvency is part of the mandate of the Festival. The Oregon Bach Festival shall strive to make its programs accessible to all interested persons.

Description

The Oregon Bach Festival, a program of the University of Oregon, is a Grammy-winning classical music festival that takes place over three weeks in late June and early July. It attracts a total audience of more than 40,000 for a schedule of nearly 60 events. OBF fills 19 refreshing summer days with choral-orchestral masterworks, guest artists, chamber music, social events, and innovative educational programs, under the artistic leadership of world-renowned Bach expert Helmuth Rilling. We’re based in Eugene, and have many concerts that take place in Portland, Bend, Ashland, Lincoln City, and other cities. OBF 2012 dates are June 29-July 15.
