Mission Statement
The purpose of the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), as expressed in the b-lalws of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor Foundation, is to "recruit and maintain a reservoir of lawyers on a voluntary basis to serve the needs of people . . . who require legal services but whose incomes or means of support are deemed by the corporation to be inadequate to pay for such services, and when appropriate, to provide means of compensating wholly or partially, the lawyers who provide said services."
Description
The Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) is closely affiliated with the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati. The VLP recruits, trains and supports attorneys who agree to provide legal representation to low income individuals on a pro bono basis, in a variety of civil legal matters. The VLP operates in seven counties in southwest Ohio: Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, Warren, Brown, Highland and Clinton.
