Mission Statement

Pomona Valley Low-Income Services (PVLIS) is a non-profit organization committed to deploying innovative strategies to assist unhoused people and individuals at risk of being unhoused reach economic self-sufficiency. Self-sufficiency is defined as residing in a house or an apartment that is not functioning as a shelter or transitional living program, which is paid for by the individual or family. PVLIS is predicated on the belief that lack of access to information is the greatest barrier to achieving self-sufficiency. Low-income people suffer from a particularly acute lack of access to information both as a result of insufficient means of acquiring such sources, as well as inadequate training to utilize informational mediums. PVLIS addresses the informational disconnect through individualized casework.
