For thousands of West Michigan children, a Sack Supper means that school lunch doesn’t have to be the last meal of the day. With the help of our volunteers, we provide the security and consistency of guaranteeing that meal each and every weekday. Our Sack Supper delivery drivers help to deliver these meals to the dozens of schools that we serve within Kent County, but they also do so much more. They help provide comfort to the children who now know that they have the nourishment they need to learn and live well. Drivers come to Kids’ Food Basket on a scheduled day each week to deliver Sack Suppers to assigned schools, using either one of our Kids' Food Basket delivery vans or your own personal vehicle. Depending on the size of the delivery, a typical driving route will take 1-1.5 hours.

For thousands of West Michigan children, a Sack Supper means that school lunch doesn’t have to be the last meal of the day. With the help of our volunteers, we provide the security and consistency of guaranteeing that meal each and every weekday. By signing up to be a meal packing volunteer, you'll be helping to pack Sack Suppers in their final stage before delivery! This involves working on a small assembly line to get all of our healthy and nourishing menu items into each brown paper bag. Please be ready to have a good time while ensuring kids in our community get the nutrition they need to thrive!

Mission Statement
Kids' Food Basket exists to increase access to healthy food for children and families. Our core belief is that food is a right, not a privilege. Because that is not yet a reality, we mobilize human and financial resources to break down barriers that cause food insecurity. Our services include our flagship Sack Supper program, community-driven farming, family food provision and educational programming. Collectively, we are working toward realizing a hunger-free West Michigan for all.
Description
Who We Are Kids’ Food Basket is a grassroots, community solution to childhood hunger. We engage all who care about children reaching their full potential - in school and in life. We began 20 years ago by serving 125 kids through our Sack Supper program and now serve approximately 9,300 kids each weekday in West Michigan.
