Mission Statement
Westside Housing’s mission is to build robust sustainable communities. We work with residents, local businesses, and key stakeholders to build sustainable communities that are safe, affordable, and healthy places where diverse people want to live, work, and play. Westside Housing Organization demonstrates the principles of sustainability in all lines of business and the communities we serve.
Description
Westside Housing has been operating on Kansas City's historic Westside since 1973. We manage affordable rental housing, build new construction, complete minor home repair, and engage in various community development activites. In addition to creating and maintaining affordable housing, we manage the Westside Urban Orchard, and provide oversight for the Switzer Community Farm. We have also played integral roles in installing neighborhood beautification projects on the Westside and in Northeast Kansas City. We have adopted the principals of sustianability into all lines of business by making our apartments, new homes, and renovations more energy efficient and adhereing to best environmental practices while being sensitive to the social and economic needs of our community.
