Running for a Better Oakland (RBO) is a non-profit organization that encourages Kindergarten-12th grade Oakland students to develop healthy lifestyles through running. By providing training and encouragement, RBO helps students build confidence and set goals, giving them tools for achievement and hard work they can draw on in all areas of their lives.
Description
RBO strives to build a tolerant, healthy, and prosperous community. Through the discipline and rigor of a structured running program, RBO’s goal is to create new relationships, establish trust, build self-esteem, and empower students, parents, and volunteers.

RBO is a community organization to inspire running and healthy life habits for kids k-12 in the Bay Area. RBO has weekly outdoor running training in Oakland, filled with the love of running, administered by teachers, parents, volunteers and the community at large. Everyone is welcomed at no cost. RBO provides shoes, running gear, race entries and scholarships to HS Seniors. As a volunteer and Board Member, I am proud and honored to be a part of RBO and highly recommend it.

RBO is an amazing organization focused on helping youth in the Bay Area specifically the East Bay live healthier lives through running. I am a Board member and volunteer. It is so rewarding to see the coaches work with the kids and help them achieve their fitness goals. Completely rewarding experience!
