Promoting and protecting the natural resources, rural economy, history and beauty of the Virginia Piedmont
Founded in 1972, The Piedmont Environmental Council’s mission is to promote and protect the natural resources, rural economy, history and beauty of the Virginia Piedmont. PEC’s primary service area includes Albemarle, Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Loudoun, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock Counties.
PEC empowers residents to protect what makes the Piedmont a wonderful place, and works with citizens to conserve land, protect air and water quality, celebrate historic resources, build smart transportation networks, promote local farms and food, restore wildlife habitat and improve people’s access to nature.
