Mission Statement

The mission of Human Support Services is to provide mental health promotion and treatment services to the residents of Monroe County helping all grow in self esteem so as to reach full potential. Mental health promotion services, such as stress management, weight control, smoking cessation, assertiveness, prevention and self-esteem programs, and prevention programs, are available to the whole community. Treatment services, including rehabilitation, residential, and employment services, are rendered to the emotionally, developmentally and substance abuse disabled, an efficient, effective, fully unified and principled health care system, Client centered services determined by client need. Quality services demonstrated by consumer satisfaction supported by realistic client goals and complete documentation. A single system of care delivering comprehensive services available with equal access and at an affordable cost. A system of care integrated both horizontally and vertically with health and mental health service providers. A community where the health status of people is the center of planning, services, and funding and where the health care providers are held accountable for health outcomes.

Description

The Human Support Services, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, was founded in 1973 to fill a glaring gap in health services in Monroe County. It is the major provider of community mental health services in Monroe County. All services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis with disregard for race, color, creed, sex, national origin or handicapping condition.
