Mission Statement

The mission of the organization is to provide a rescue network to shelters in the Philadelphia and immediate surrounding four county area. At the present time, GSR-SP serves the overflow needs of shelters in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties. In addition services have been extended to include Southern New Jersey, Delaware and the entire state of Pennsylvania as our volunteer network has expeanded to cover new areas.

Description

German Shepherd Rescue of Southeastern Pennsylvania (GSR-SP) was formed as a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation in early 1999. At present membership fluctuates between 45 and 48 volunteers. Our Web-site links into Pefinder.com and displays photos and descriptions of German shepherds and German shepherd mixes in our foster care, currently in shelters, or as owner referrals of people wishing to place dogs they can no longer keep. We also work with other rescue organizations in helping to place German shepherds and German shepherd mixes in a safe situation.
