YES on I-297: Protect Washington

Mission Statement

The Yes on I-297: Protect Washington campaign is working to pass Initiative 297 this November. I-297 requires the toxic nuclear contamination at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation -- the most-contaminated site in the Western Hemisphere -- be cleaned up before any more waste is allowed to be shipped in. The contamination to be cleaned up under the initiative includes that seeping from underground nuclear waste storage tanks, the contamination from dumping toxic nuclear waste in unlined soil trenches, and the 200 square mile plume of underground nuclear contamination seeping toward and into the Columbia River.
