Our Adult Day program is designed to serve aging individuals and persons with disabilities, allowing them to remain in the community, who may otherwise need to move to a residential facility. It provides a safe environment for those who may otherwise be left alone during the day. On a daily basis, all of our participants are offered activities such as games, crafts, discussions, memory enhancement activities and music to help keep them mentally alert. Staff provides appropriate movement exercises and active games to aid in ability to stay active. The program provides nutritious meals, monitor general health, provide medication administration and some personal cares. Our participants also benefit from socialization and interaction with others.
MindWorks is an early memory loss program which provides cognitive, social, physical, educational, and various other support services to both the individual and their family/caregivers. Classes are offered two days a week, four hours each day. Intervening early with memory loss often provides better quality of life. MindWorks is a wonderful opportunity to share life in a safe environment with other individuals experiencing early memory loss. It provides a proactive approach for those concerned about their memory loss and exercises the brain through various activities. Various techniques are shared, including ways to improve memory and coping skills. MindWorks members look forward to attending each session; laughs are often shared and camaraderie is evident.
Both programs allow family members respite, the opportunity to go to work (particularly for adult day participants), or to fulfill other needs. Both also offer support and resources to family caregivers in assisting them as they manage caring for their loved one.
