We desire to provide tutors for adult learners that need instruction in English as a Second Language or adults that need reading and writing instruction to improve their skills.

Description

Carson City Literacy Volunteers ( CCLV) was founded over 20 years ago to promote literacy in Carson City by providing individualized basic instruction in reading and writing to non-literate, marginally literate adults and to non-English speaking adults. We are a non-profit, educational, volunteer organization using the method of "Each One Teach One" to help reduce illiteracy in Carson City and adjacent areas.

The Carson City Literacy Volunteers don't just help adults learn English, they also help dyslexics of all ages learn to read using proven teaching methods. They instructed me in the dyslexic learning style and offered ample teaching materials and support. The only con is how incredibly busy the organizer has become. Please be patient if you are trying to get in touch.
