Mission Statement

Fellow Mortals is a dedicated wildlife hospital organized in 1985 and incorporated in 1991. Staffed by four licensed and experienced wildlife rehabilitators, and assisted by wildlife veterinarians and student interns, the hospital provides professional, compassionate medical and rehabilitative care to 1400-2000 wild creatures annually. A philosophically-based organization, Fellow Mortals provides care for the injured and orphaned wild creatures found and rescued by the public, many of whom have never before interacted with a wild animal. Often this act of compassion is a life-changing experience for the people involved.Fellow Mortals was founded on the belief that a compassionate act on behalf of another living creature is one of the noblest deeds that can be performed by a human -- reflecting something fine and rare that is the very essence of the human spirit.
