Would you recommend Ebenezer Minneapolis Campus?
I loved volunteering at Ebenezer and was there for 1.5yrs. I was never properly trained and had no reason to think I needed to be. I was there 5-6 days/week, up to 30 hrs/week. The residents and some of the staff really do care. I was “let go” for reasons pertaining to things I’d never been trained in. I was shamed and made to feel like I’d done something terrible wrong (despite being named volunteer of the year after only a year). Volunteer Services never defended me or took my side. I was never given proper recourse or due process. I was left unable to even say goodbye to the residents, some, most whom I love and still care about. Worry about now more than ever. I’ve never done a review like this and I really hope I never do again. I only hope things in the future change.
I really enjoy volunteering at this center. I take my dog to visit the residents on Saturdays, and I also helped out with transporting residents in the building. There are some residents who are really fun to talk to, but it sometimes makes me sad, too because some of the residents seem really sick and lonely.
because it is good Organization there is so many help. People help each other and work together. i especially like to help elderly and make a difference. i grow up with my grandpa who died at the age of 115. i know how to take care of elderly and i love to help them.
