Family Promise of Lorain County, Inc.

Description

Family Promise of Lorain County opened its doors in 2008. Trhrough its Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) it has comprehensive emergency shelter services to homeless families. Family Promise accepts mothers, fathers, legal guardians and couples with physical custody of at least one child under the age of 18. Shelter and meals are provided through 14 host congregations along with 15 supporting congregations providing supplies and volunteers. A Day Center is maintained in downtown Elyria where families receive intensive support services to assist each family to identify the obstacles that have led them into homelessness and resolve those obstacles so that permanent community housing can be obtained and sustained.
