Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower children and foster their sense of self through exploration of the artistic process. In discovering this process, and the creative power within themselves, Children's Art Center students learn to view the world as a place filled with possibilities, one where they can shape and express their own vision.
Description
The San Francisco Children's Art Center has been part of the lives of children and families since 1978. Our mission is to nurture the developmental and artistic growth of children through creative expression and self-guided learning. By encouraging experimentation and discovery in a supportive environment, the Art Center is a place filled with possibilities, where children can collaborate, explore, and grow.
At our Fort Mason studio, we offer a full range of art classes and workshops for children ages 22 months to 10 years old. We also offer weekend family workshops and art birthday parties.
In the community, we serve hundreds of children each year through our partnership with the Performing Arts Workshop that takes our teachers into preschools throughout the city.
