Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all we do. The need for our work is beyond question

Description

Each year, the American Heart Association relies on more than 200,000 dedicated volunteers from all parts of our affiliate to help reduce disability and death due to heart disease and stroke. We make a difference by assisting in local communities, schools, hospitals or corporations, and by getting involved in state, regional or national arenas and by helping to raise dollars for research and education. AHA volunteers and staff also mobilize resources to influence public policy decisions regarding increased funding for cardiovascular research, physical activity in schools and comprehensive tobacco legislation to protect our young people. We work to achieve this by scheduling programs on both a local and national level:
