Mission Statement
Spectrum Autism Support Group (Spectrum) was established in the fall of 1998 for families, friends and teachers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) within Gwinnett County, Georgia and the surrounding areas. It is a parent run group, whose mission is to provide support, education and resources encompassing the entire spectrum of ASD for children and adults.
Description
Our social programs provide social skills lessons during the Spectrum Autism Support group’s monthly meeting; community outings after school and on the weekends; the monthly Saturday Asperger’s social club and Asperger’s Teen weekend overnights. The purpose of these programs is to provide social skills activities where all children will learn to work with, play with, respect and value each other regardless of their varying abilities and skills. Spectrum Camps and Clubs programs strive to provide a quality social skills learning experience for children with Autism and their siblings at an affordable fee to parents regardless of their socioeconomic status. We serve children between the ages of four and twenty-two having severe, moderate, and mild Autism, Asperger syndrome and their siblings. Children attend our social skills activities from Gwinnett and surrounding counties including Hall, Walton, DeKalb, and Cobb.
