Putnam Humane Society is a wonderful organization. I voluteered here a few times-walking dogs, playing with cats and bringing treats, etc. The people there really care about the animals. Every animal has a "story", all sad! And anytime I inquired about an animal, the person I asked knew their "story". You can tell they truly love the cats and dogs here and that they try their very best to find good forever homes for them. Whenever I visited, I would find the volunteers and the people that work at the shelter, washing out pens, walking the dogs, caring for the cats, etc. The dogs and have single, very large pens that they have plenty of room in. The cats have a whole area where they can roam free. It is a clean and welcoming place. Of course it is a sad to see any animal in a shelter, this is not a depressing place. Go on in and volunteer, the animals need you!
