Mission Statement
Design that Matters (DtM) is a nonprofit design company that collaborates with social entrepreneurs to help them offer better services to the poor in developing countries. We were founded in 2001 by a group of graduate students at the MIT Media Lab, and incorporated in 2003 as an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our design service involves a collaborative process by which students and faculty at schools like MIT and Stanford, along with volunteer professionals from companies like IDEO and SolidWorks, design new tools to improve healthcare and education in Africa and Asia.
Description
DtM clients include Malian educators in nighttime adult literacy classes seeking better tools for teaching and Bangladeshi doctors seeking an improved way deliver fluids to cholera patients
