Mission Statement

The United Workers Association is an organization of low wage workers who are organizing for better wages and working conditions. We recognize that there are many barriers workers face in ensuring their basic economic human rights to living wage jobs. These barriers include the growing day labor industry, discrimination of ex-offenders, and rise in low level service jobs. We can overcome these barriers through organizing and uniting workers together.

Description

We have three program areas: a corporate accountability campaign targeting users of sweatshop day labor agencies; worker-run business; and leadership development.
