Mission Statement

Women of all ages should be empowered to determine the course of their own lives--especially when it comes to basic human rights like food, water, health, education, environment, and security. Working with partners, New Course will connect women with these vital resources through sustainable development and natural-resource management. Together, we'll help improve their well-being, as well as the health and welfare of their families and communities.

Description

There are many not-for-profits operating in the fields of development, natural resource conservation, and gender empowerment. At New Course, we recognize and applaud the important contributions so many people are making. We also believe that despite this tremendous effort and financial investment the impacts are not as powerful as they could be.

New Course is utilizes three bold innovations that improve the delivery of results on the ground and increase the impact of investments. These three innovations include: 1.employing a holistic, multidisciplinary, process based approach that empowers women 2. the use of low-tech and low-cost technologies to empower women and to give them a voice on a global platform as well as to create a more rewarding philanthropic experience. 3. a higher level of transparency and accountability that includes measuring social impacts in addition to traditional impacts.
