Mission Statement

The Mission of the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, Inc. is to provide leadership in addressing and improving the quality of life of the homeless in Palm Beach County through advocacy, education, collaboration, planning, and maximizing resources. The Homeless Coalition concentrates on raising community awareness concerning homeless issues, increasing collaboration among service providers, and obtaining resources for programs aimed at helping Palm Beach County’s homeless population to transition out of homelessness and into self-sufficiency. To accomplish this, the Coalition facilitates several activities through which the persons who are served, the number of persons served, and the place where services are provided varies. For example, in 2010, the Homeless Coalition served nearly 1,200 homeless and at risk persons, and provided advocacy and education to at least 50 service provider agencies.

The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, Inc. was formed in 1986 and incorporated in 1989 with the purpose of bringing the business community, homeless and formerly homeless individuals, clergy, government and service providers to work together to end homelessness.

I had the privilege to intern for The Homeless Coalition this summer. The experience was very rewarding. I am going to miss interning for this organization tremendously. I worked with some of the most interesting, caring, hard-working individuals. If your looking for an internship or volunteering experience, this place is for you. They will work with your specific skills set and work around your schedule. So shoot them an email or give them a call; I promise you won't regret it :)
