Description

Throughout its distinguished history, The Provincetown Art Association and Museum has established an extensive archive comprised of letters, biographical information, catalogs, reviews, announcements, photographs, and ephemera related to its activities.

The archives serve as the most complete and informative resource concerning Provincetown's critical role in the development and support of American Art and Artists. The Provincetown Art Association and Museum's programs and membership represent a living continuum which is documented both within our archives and the museum collection. We continually seek additions, and call on our members and others for contributions. As an invaluable resource for scholarship and research, the archives are accessed by historians, students, artists, collectors, curators, and descendants of artists for a wide range of purposes, and are open to all who make an inquiry.
