Mission Statement

The mission of the Reagan Ranch Center Exhibit Gallery is to share the history of President Reagan and his Ranch retreat alongside his values that he held so dear.

Description

President Reagan’s home for 25 years and the Western White House during the height of the Cold War, the Reagan Ranch embodies the life and ideas of Ronald Reagan. In the spring of 1998, Young America’s Foundation stepped forward to save the Reagan Ranch; eight years later, in June 2006, the Reagan Ranch Center in downtown Santa Barbara opened its doors. This Schoolhouse for Reaganism serves as an important complement to the Ranch itself.

The Reagan Ranch Center in downtown Santa Barbara, California is open to the general public for tours and visitation Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. These galleries feature original Reagan Ranch artifacts matched with state-of-the-art, interactive, multimedia exhibits that highlight the history of Ronald Reagan’s quarter-century at Rancho del Cielo and the accomplishments of his presidency.

The Reagan Ranch Center is designed to engage visitors of all ages; younger children can even earn their "Junior Secret Service Clearance" by completing a fun and educational scavenger hunt.

The Reagan Ranch Center is located at 217 State Street next to the train station.

Admission is FREE. For more information call1-888-USA-1776.

I recommend being a docent at the Reagan Ranch Center because of the wonderful staff and docents that work at this center. Learning about President Reagan and his ranch reveals how humble this great man was. Since most visitors are interested in learning more about the President and his ranch, the dialog is exhilarating. As a bonus, docents also get trained to support staff in giving tours at the Reagan Ranch which is not open to the public.

As our 40th President would say, "life begins when you begin to serve." And for me there's no better way to serve than through Young American Foundation's (YAF) Reagan Ranch Center. Young or older, citizens of all countries, veterans of the Reagan era, or just wanting a history education, the Center gets thousands of visitors annually to experience this wonderful man through his favorite location, Rancho del Cielo. I'm proud to be a Docent representing YAF's Mission. Michael R.
