To provide a safe harbor to enhance the lives of at-risk, homeless youth. Since 1991, Life House goals are to help at-risk, homeless kids become healthy,
positive adults. Our services provide youth ages 14-20 with access to hot
meals, shelter, and programs that help kids succeed in housing, jobs, school,
and health goals. Located in the LIFELINE Building, two blocks from the public transit center in downtown Duluth, homeless kids know Life House is a safe place they can go to connect with help.
Life House strives to end the cycles of
poverty, homelessness, and abuse in our community. Our services connect at-risk, homeless kids with emergency / crisis needs (food, clothing, shelter) and programs that help with safe housing, employment, education, and positive health goals.
Life House serves on average 600 kids per year, ages 14-20. Our services target kids suffering multiple barriers toward positive, healthy changes and life success. These barriers include:
sexual exploitation / abuse / abandonment / parental
mental illness / chemical dependency
/ housing instability
little or no education
insufficient employment skills
exiting "out of home placement" with no support
Life House services include a drop-in center for at-risk, homeless kids seeking food and warmth. Our drop-in service hours: • Monday through Friday, 3-8pm (Wednesdays,
3-6pm) • Saturday Noon-4pm. Case
management is available Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, for our kids seeking help with life goals.
