Mission Statement

Spirit Reins provides mental health services for Central Texas children and families affected by abuse, neglect and other trauma. In so many ways, these children and families have been torn down- physically, mentally and emotionally.

Spirit Reins builds them back up.

Combining traditional mental health services with innovative approaches like trauma-focused equine assisted psychotherapy, we help children recover and build relationships based on mutual respect, love and understanding. Parents are equipped with the tools they need to handle negative behaviors and restore broken relationships with their children.

Our homegroup from our Church in Austin volunteered at Spirit Reins a few years ago. Rhonda has an incredible story of how she founded the ranch and a passion for doing it the best that she can. She was organized and ready with tools and tasks to keep us busy. She and her assistant also fed us a great lunch! We visited several times after just to go out and enjoy the beauty of her place. I would suggest this serving opportunity to anyone wanting to come away feeling as though you have really partnered with someone who is committed to making a difference in this world.
