OUR MISSION: Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being.Voluntary Services Team promotes activities and recruits & places Volunteers to improve Veteran, Veteran’s, Families and Staff experiences with friendly customer focused Guest Relations, Telephone Communication and Voluntary Service support. Provides Volunteers the opportunity to perform many duties necessary to augment and support the overall purpose, function and mission of Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in providing high quality healthcare to our nation’s Veterans in Central Arkansas and surrounding areas in addition to National Emergencies.
The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) consists of two Veterans Health Administration (VHA) campuses located at Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas. CAVHS has eight Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Conway, Hot Springs, El Dorado, Mountain Home, Mena, Pine Bluff, Russellville and Searcy, Arkansas. CAVHS employees staff four of the eight CBOCs: Conway, Hot Springs, Searcy and Russellville. These clinics serve Veterans living in northern, western, and central Arkansas counties, as well as border counties in surrounding states. Unique to the facility is our Veterans Day Treatment Center for homeless Veterans, located in downtown Little Rock and the Home Health Care Service Center, which operates from Hot Springs, as well as from an off-site location in Little Rock. We also support the Vet Center located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. CAVHS is classified as a Level 1b facility on the VA complexity model. CAVHS provides comprehensive healthcare through primary, tertiary, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, mental health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, dentistry, ophthalmology, geriatrics and extended care, women’s health and education. CAVHS is active in research and emergency preparedness.
