Mission Statement

The Guild Complex, an independent not-for-profit cultural center, serves as a forum for literary cross-cultural expression, discussion and education, in combination with other arts. We believe that the arts are instrumental in defining and exploring human experience, while encouraging participation by artists and audience alike in changing the conditions of our society.

Description

The Guild Complex provides several culturally inclusive programs to link communities, artists, and ideas. These programs include: regular literary events featuring nationally-known authors and Chicago artists; chapbook publishing through the Tia Chucha Press; introductory through masters level workshops; the Young Women Writers Program; and the Signature Series, which pairs world-class writers with local writers.
