Description: The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for managing the Meal Groups who come in through our Family Meal Program to provide a meal for our families. Preparing a meal for our families is a wonderful way for groups to support the House. Consequently, there are numerous guidelines to follow and rules to remember that can make it stressful for the group. The Kitchen Supervisor is vital to the success of the meal. Their purpose is to provide support and direction to the group throughout the meal. The goal is to provide a nice meal for our families and a rewarding time for our group while staying within our preparation and clean-up guidelines. We depend on the Kitchen Supervisor to welcome our groups to the House, direct them through setup, and be available to answer questions that arise. The Kitchen Supervisor must be diplomatic, comfortable giving directions, resourceful, enjoy working with people, and have a good sense of humor. This position requires someone mature and confident. Responsibilities include: Pre-Meal: * Set up - Ensure all needed items and spaces are available * Greeting the Group, completing forms, escorting them to the kitchen * Guide the group as needed, ensure safe food handling and answer questions Dinner: * Once dinner is prepared it is cooled to the correct temperature. * Food is put into containers and then into the family fridge for families to take at their convenience. * Make sure the kitchen is clean, all items put away. General: * Notifying House Manager of any problems, concerns, or emergencies. * Record Volunteer hours following each shift. Qualifications/Skills: * Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older * Friendly, positive, and confident, assertive yet diplomatic. * Good communication skills and ability to give direction * Desire to work with people in achieving a goal * Dependable and flexible * Adhere to all RMH policies and procedures

Description: Our Van Drivers provide relief and enjoyment for our families by driving them, in our van, to local shopping centers, events, and local attractions. Often our families do not have a car while they are in Seattle or are not comfortable driving in the city. Our families truly appreciate any transportation that our volunteers can provide and look forward to van outings. This volunteer position requires someone personable, helpful, and dependable. Requirements: The Van Driver needs to be comfortable driving in the city with the minor distractions of 11 other people in the van. You must be over 21 and under 75 years of age. A qualified Volunteer Van Driver is someone who has fulfilled all the written and driving requirements necessary to drive the van. Schedule: The schedule allows for a weekly set schedule, every other week, or on-call. This is a non-paid volunteer position. Responsibilities: * Drive a 12-passenger van following the policies, procedures, and safety guidelines outlined in the Van Driving Manual and Volunteer Manual * Fill out the all forms necessary for each trip * Log your destination and miles for each trip that you drive * Assist the families in getting on and off of the van * Remain in the area in case of an emergency (does not pertain to school) * Report any problems, concerns, or emergencies to the House Manager * Record volunteer hours Qualifications/Skills * Must be at least 21 years of age and under the age of 75 * Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and insurance * Must have a driving record with: ono more than one violation, ono speeding tickets that are 20 miles or more over the limit * Friendly, positive attitude, willingness, and interest in helping people * Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries * Dependable * Adhere to all RMHC policies and procedures

We need volunteers to help set up for our Gala. This could include but not limited to: setting up the ballroom, organizing silent auction items, and setting up activities happening prior to the Gala.
