Mission Statement
The Interfaith Youth Core seeks to nurture a new generation of compassionate global leaders by engaging youth from different faith communities in a dynamic process of intercultural encounter, social action and interfaith reflection.
Description
As faith communities seek ways of interacting that promote harmony among themselves and benefits for the broader society, one challenge common to all is how to involve youth in this process. Youth are at a delicate stage in their faith formation. Not only are they still acquiring knowledge of their own religions, they are in the process of deciding how these traditions apply to their lives in the pluralist modern world. The Interfaith Youth Core seeks to link the religious identities of youth to two areas: 1) Understanding, appreciating and respecting other religious identities; and 2) Making a difference in the broader society through social action.
