Our most significant activity is the annual Skagit Valley Scottish Highland Games, held during the second weekend in July. 2004 marks our 10th anniversary, and we expect crowds approaching 20,000 for this two-day celebration. We work hard to blend traditional Scottish and Celtic activities with a quality fun-filled, family-oriented festival. Activities include; bagpiping, Highland, Irish and Scottish County Dancing, Athletic Events, Celtic Harp, Fiddling, Childrenâ  s events, arts, crafts and food vendors and much more. Over the years we have hosted a number of regional and US Championship events, always attempting to improve on what has been a very successful formula. The mission of our Highland Games volunteers has become to â  entertain and inspire.â  With a very large pool of dedicated volunteers, we have created a model that has worked extremely well for us. The Celtic Arts Foundation is a registered 501 c 3 non-profit organization. In addition to the successful sponsorship of the Skagit Valley Highland Games, we have taken proceeds from our activities and provided tens of thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships to a number of Celtic artists and organizations. In 2003, we led a successful capital campaign resulting in the construction of a $200,000 outdoor stage at Edgewater Park in downtown Mount Vernon. Our commitment to quality and dedication to building an outstanding organization has been the key to our success.
