The mission of the Self-Sufficiency Center is to encourage and empower individuals to become self-sufficient through training in life skills, professional work techniques, realistic business preparation, and technical training.
The Self-Sufficiency Center operates 3 programs. Clothing & Connections helps low-income men and women to make a transition into the work force by providing free professional career wear and training. The Temporary Work Training Program provides a safe and secure training environment for individuals who have little or no work experience. In this setting, the client becomes familiar with working in a typical office environment while being held to normal job expectations. The Entrepreneurship for Single Parents & Minorities program helps low-income single parents and minoritis to improve their lives through providing realistic business preparation and creation, resulting in stronger communities.
