***Our Vision*** The Foundation's bold and exciting vision is reflected in our Mission Statement and Program Goals outlined below: Provide quality dental care to financially disadvantaged children, ages 2 to 14. Offer a comprehensive patient/family education program, with a strong emphasis on preventive dentistry that is designed to minimize children's dental diseases. Furnish a learning environment that provides dental assisting students with the knowledge of how to operate and staff a multidisciplinary pediatric care facility. Provide a model program that can be used by other communities. ***Our Clinic*** The clinic, located on the Willow campus of the Hacienda/La Puente Adult School, operates as part of the school's Dental Assistant Program. This new location, staffed by volunteer dentists, hygienists, on-campus dental assisting students, as well as dental hygiene students from Pasadena City College, gives us a greater capacity to serve the area's children. The clinic is open two half-days a week: Wednesday and Friday. A clinic manager and receptionist not only keep the clinic organized, but also assist in our Outreach Prevention Program throughout the community. Dental education and awareness has become an important part of our program, within the clinic as well as in the schools and community of the San Gabriel Valley. ***How We're Funded*** The clinic is funded solely through private donations from individuals and corporations. The Foundation received no government assistance. Annual fundraisers are an integral part of supporting our mission to serve the San Gabriel Valley community. In the past, the Foundation has received contributions from individuals and organizations including: Ameritec, ARCO, California Dental Association, Dental Foundation of California, Henry L. Guenther, Ralph M. Parsons, Kaiser Permanente, Rose Hills, Tennant, Webb Berger, and Weingart Foundations. Future funding will ensure that we continue to address the needs of dental care, a major health issue for children. Funding is necessary to assure the continuation and expansion of our nonprofit community model of dental health care: a strong preventive educational program combined with quality dental treatment. ***How You Can Help*** We've become a vital "dental resource" for many families through our growing commitment to provide quality dental care to the economically disadvantaged children in the San Gabriel Valley. That's why we require and greatly appreciate continuing financial support from people like you.
