Mission Statement

The Hollywood Wilshire Family YMCA is an association of people of all ages, ethnic groups, and religious affiliations, who are united in a common effort to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice and to enrich the quality of spiritual, mental, physical, and social life for their families, their communities, and themselves.

Description

Since 1914, the Hollywood Wilshire YMCA has been building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through programs that emphasize character building. In addition to the many recreational and sports activities for the youth, adults, and families in the Hollywood and Wilshire areas, the Y offers preschool, after-school activities for youth, a comprehensive teen program, an employment program, A Brighter Future Transitional Housing Program for homeless women and their children, and an in-house counseling facility, which services all of the above YMCA initiatives in addition to the greater Los Angeles community.
