Our mission is to Empower People to Fight global poverty through Life-Changing, Sustainable Development Programs.

Description

HELP International is a volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty and empowering people. Every year, volunteers are trained, prepared and sent out to developing countries where they learn about local responses to poverty and help support locally run organizations and initiatives. Participants may work with partners to plan and implement thier own projects. It's a philosophy based on self-determination, development, and empowerment that is training a new generation to live in a world void of poverty.

You had the freedom to choose exactly what you wanted to focus on while in the country of your chosing. You create your own project, and work on making it sustainable so that it can continuously do good once you leave. It was such a neat experience.

HELP International creates an excellent balance between a volunteer experience and long lasting, sustainable development. Volunteers are able to work directly with locals in developing countries to assess their needs and then design projects that help that community with their specific needs. Volunteers are able to use their skills to help find solutions to poverty and empower people. I loved my experience with HELP International and I can't think of a better way to see the world. It opened my eyes to poverty in other countries and how I can be a part of the change. I recommend HELP to anyone that wants to work hard and make a difference.
