Mission Statement

Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a volunteer-based organization in partnership with Birmingham Botanical Gardens. It promotes public knowledge and appreciation of plants, gardens, and the environment and receives, raises and administeres resources for these purposes.

Description

Birmingham Botanical gardens feature 67.5 acres of breathtaking gardens, including over 3,000 types of plants, 30 plus works of outdoor sculpture, and a large Conservatory. Guests enjoy over 20 interprtive and thematic gardens, including the internationally known Japanese Garden. The Gardens is open 365 days a year, sunrise to sunset, and admission is free. Workshops, free forums, lectures, events, and classes are conducted year round to promote The Gardens and fulfill the mission. An onsite horticulture library and a unique Gatehouse Gift shop complete the garden experience.
