Mission Statement

The Peninsula Women's Chorus (PWC) is committed to excellence in performance of diverse and challenging choral literature for women's voices. The chorus inspires and enriches its audiences through compelling musical artistry. The PWC's objectives are: To promote the recognition and musical growth of the chorus by participating in festivals, cultural exchanges and musical collaborations, and through the creation and distribution of quality recordings. To encourage and support opportunities for women's choirs by expanding and promoting choral literature and by serving as a role model. To attract and retain talented musicians and active supporters by providing a challenging and rewarding environment with opportunities for musical and personal growth. To complement all artistic endeavors with sound business practices and effective public relations, publicity and marketing programs.

Founded in 1966, the award-winning Peninsula Women's Chorus (PWC) is a 50-voice women's choir which is committed to excellence in the performance of diverse and challenging music sung in original languages. PWC has significantly added to the literature for women's voices by commissioning over 30 new works and has inspired and enriched audiences through musical exchanges with internationally renowned musicians and choirs--raising the bar for the musical capabilities of women's choirs. PWC produces two concert seasons per year with special events in alternate years (e.g. attendance at a music festival). PWC also hosts NMFTV (New Music for Treble Voices) each Spring which showcases other treble choruses in the area.
