Mission Statement

The YWCA Metropolitan St. Louis, an association of women from diverse backgrounds and faiths, is committed to strengthening our community through the social and economic empowerment of women, the development of youth and the elimination of racism.


Programs provide for a continuum of service for women and families of all ages and circumstances. They include: Head Start, School Age Child Care, YW-Teens leadership programs, youth and adult recreation and fitness, Racial Justice programs, the St. Louis Regional Sexual Assault Center, the Phyllis Wheatly Transitional Housing Program, and the historic Phyllis Wheatly Heritage Center and Apartments
