Mission Statement

The mission of Access Center for Education is to provide consulting services for parents of special needs children, helping them become active participants in 504 and IEP meetings. By using a participative process, we like to see parents write their own IEPs that reflect their concerns, evaluation of how the child is doing, and goals for child. Working through the "Parent IEP" before the meeting makes meetings shorter, more productive, and less likely to end in conflict. In addition, we strive to provide resources to school districts that will help them minimize conflicts with parents though trainings and in-service seminars on issues related to compliance, productive IEP meetings, and learning resources. In addition, we seek to increase public awareness about issues related to Special Education.
