LONGWOOD GARDENS MISSION STATEMENT Longwood Gardens is dedicated to preserving the spirit and beauty of the early twentieth-century gardens of Pierre S. du Pont. Longwood is a display garden promoting the art and enjoyment of horticulture for the public, while providing opportunities for research and learning. We are committed to excellence, good management, and fiscal responsibility. Approved by the Board of Trustees November 20, 1986

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The Longwood Gardens Volunteer Program is an opportunity for individuals to support the Mission, Principles, Planning Vision, and operations of the Gardens. Longwood recognizes the valuable contribution of time and talent volunteers give the organization, and encourages the effective, ongoing participation of volunteers in its day-to-day operations. The program is an opportunity for individuals to exercise their skills and talents and gain knowledge and experience while interacting with Longwood staff and visitors.
