Mission Statement

The purposes and objectives of the Service shall be to render pre-hospital emergency care and to transport the injured, wounded, sick, infirm and aged persons requiring transportation by ambulance to hospitals or other places for medical treatment; to render oxygen therapy services; provide free of charge wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, canes, etc.; provide ambulance standby at community events. All the above services shall be rendered only to persons residing in Whitestone or to those working or within the boundaries of Whitestone.

Description

The Whitestone Community Ambulance Service is an all volunteer emergency ambulance service that serves the Whitestone, Queens, NY area. Members who volunteer and become certified (training provided) as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) have the opportunity to work in the EMS field in the public/private sector.

The Receptionist that picked up the phone had a nasty attitude, there is such a thing as a "public service" ethic ...if he was having a bad day he should of taken a 15 minute break, drink some coffee, take a walk , ( what ever he had to do to calm him ) but defiantly not speak the way he did when i was just calling to volunteer my time. i'm not going to get in to detail of what he said because i have class but he was out of line ...
