Based on the fundamental belief that courage is contagious and risk-taking is infectious, That Takes Ovaries! seeks to empower and support women and girls through fun, audience participatory That Takes Ovaries! open mikes, dramatizations and fundraising events that celebrate the gutsy, bold, brazen, outrageous, audacious and courageous acts of women and girls.

Description

That Takes Ovaries! is a unique initiative that empowers women and girls by mixing art with activism. We celebrate the gutsy, sassy and often touching true tales of women's estrogen-powered deeds through an open mike movement, a play and a best-selling book (That Takes Ovaries!: Bold Females and Their Brazen Acts, Random House). That Takes Ovaries! is currently under the fiscal sponsorship of ARK Theater.
