Mission Statement

PAWS is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization providing assistance programs to low-income, elderly, chronically ill, and/or diabled pet owners and thier companion animals. Services include pet food and nutritional supplements, foster care, exercising, reduced-cost veterinary care, and community education.

Description

PAWS North County is a recognized nonprofit organization established in 1993 by a group of concerned North County residents who recognized the need to help companion animals of people living with HIV/AIDS. In 1998 services were expanded to help people in North San Diego County with other life-threatening illnesses and/or those advanced in age with low income. In 2002, PAWS once again extended help to those living in Metropolitan San Diego. PAWS changed their name from PAWS North County to PAWS San Diego County to reflect the expanded service area.
