Mission Statement

Volunteers for Alaska mission is to provide capable and enthusiastic volunteers from around the world into positions around the state of Alaska which foster community development, environmental awareness, and ultimately an organized effort to make sure the beautiful state of Alaska is preserved in her splendor for generations to come.

Description

VFA currently has volunteer projects located throughout the "Last Frontier." Each project is uniquely different: there are opportunities to work as part of an environmental camp for kids during the summer, work on an oceanography project in early spring, participate in museum exhibitions pertaining to marine life, rehabilitate marine mammals, take part in an archaeological dig, and much more! Volunteers have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects under the supervision of the resident researchers, environmental education instructors, and administrative staff.
